Moody Foundation: Moody’s Mega Math Challenge
The partnership between The Moody Foundation and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics has developed an applied mathematics challenge for high school students. Although the winners of the challenge for 2012 have been announced, you can use this website to find out how to participate for next year. Archives of previous challenge problems are available to use with your students. Videos of the competition are presented as well as teacher-coach guidelines and information about how the challenge is judged. Even if you don’t plan on entering a team, just working on the application of mathematics is worthy of time spent in a mathematics classroom.
