The Geffrye Museum of the Home: Interactive Journey
Through time and space travel afforded by the internet, you can take a walk through a Victorian house in London in 1870. In this interactive journey you can help Ruby and Michael search for Sam, their missing dog. While you are searching, you can learn about Victorian life by examining the objects in the house, listening to the characters, and answering the questions. By answering all the questions correctly, you will find Sam. Along the way you will have fun exploring someone else’s home and life.

Rough Science Adventure: Island General Store
If you are ever marooned on a desert island, you’ll be glad you spent some time exploring this site from the PBS series, Rough Science. The aim of this series was to show that everyday science can be used to solve technological problems by using common items. Learn how to make candles, toothpaste, glue, and insect repellent. Links to other activities show you how to make your own water filter and gives instructions on how to test the hardness and acidity of the water. In addition, any marooned scientist would want to make a microscope and a water clock. This is the place to find the instructions for those also.
