TeachEngineering: Hands On Activity: Growing and Graphing
A great lesson on graphing spelled out in exquisite detail! Your lower elementary students will love this exercise in non-standard measurement and graphing as it gets them out of their classroom and into those of older students, all in the interest of science and mathematics, of course. The lesson includes a materials list, motivation for the lesson, the procedure, and and section on assessment as well as extension activities. Also provided are links to state standards. This is a great hands-on activity that will bring math and science to a personal level for your students.
