Curriculum Services Canada: Understanding Geometric Figures Through Drawing and Paper Folding

Watch a webcast of teachers learning how to teach the properties of two-dimensional figures. The introduction explains the general overview of the webcast, and the succeeding segments go into deep detail of why paper folding helps students understand geometric figures, and how to use paper as a visual and kinesthetic tool. One segment goes through the van Hiele Taxonomy of Geometric Thinking as a way to follow a student’s progress through the steps of understanding. After the lecture segments, you can watch students in classrooms working with paper and compasses as they explain what they are learning. Artopia: Theater Backstage

Here’s your chance to see what happens backstage and put your own touches on a theatrical production of “Romeo and Juliet.” You can audition actors for the lead roles, learn how make-up techniques affect the appearance of the actors, and produce special effects in the sound studio. You’ll be working on the balcony scene as you learn about lighting. Try different pieces of clothing on the actors, and learn how to build some scenery. This is an interesting interactive that gives you a taste of play production.http://www.knowitall.org/artopia/theater/backstage/
